Care

All of our carpets are made from natural wool. Treating your carpet with the correct care, will help you keep it in good conditions and enjoy it over time. For this reason, we would like to share some important care instructions with you:

1. Fresh stains

Wash fresh stains with mineral water first. We recommend patting water on the stain(s) and leave it on for a few minutes, then dry the area with a clean tea towel. In case this did not work, you can remove the stain with a mild window-cleaning detergent.

2. General cleaning

You can use specific detergents for carpets and rugs if you wish to properly clean your carpet every once in a while. We recommend layering the carpet with a tiny amount of glycerin before applying the detergent to ease the removal of stains.

3. Fresh colour

If you wish to refresh the colour of your carpet or avoid fading, we recommend to mix water and vinegar (10 parts water, 1 part vinegar) and spray or dab it on the carpet once every few months.

4. Persistent stains

In order to remove persistent stains, we recommend to spray a bit of shaving foam on the affected area, leave it to soak in and then rinse it off with clean water.
Alternatively, you can mix natron/baking soda powder with some water until it turns into a thick paste, then apply it to the stains. Leave it to dry and then brush it off.

5. Furniture marks

You can remove or reduce furniture marks by holding an iron just above the mark on the steam function, always making sure that the iron does not touch the carpet.

6. Brighten whites

If you wish to brisk your white carpet, we suggest sprinkling some wet salt over it, leaving it for about an hour and removing it with a vacuum cleaner.

7. Removing dust

You can remove dust by beating your carpet from the back with a carpet sweeper.

8. Using snow

If you live in a snowy area, you can lay the carpet face down on a thick layer of snow and gently beat it so that the snow can absorb the dirt.

9. Pet hair

A mop or rubber broom usually work better than a vacuum cleaner to remove pet hair.

10. Chewing gum

If you wish to remove a chewing gum from your carpet, freeze it with ice cubes or an ice spray first, until it solidifies and you can scrape it off.

11. Red wine

If you wish to remove fresh red wine stains, you can sprinkle some salt on the stains, leave it for a few minutes and vacuum it off.
